The Divine Providence

An introduction

One of the most difficult questions of theology is how a loving God can permit evil.  The Writings cover this subject under what they refer to as Divine Permissions - i.e. events that God does not will, but allows to happen, in order that free will can exist.  For unless people could chose to think and do evil, they could not meaningfully choose the alternative of thinking and doing good.
